An elegant destination wedding in Aegina Island

The picturesque island of Aegina, is just a few miles from Piraeus, yet a world away, with its beauty, its charm, and its laid-back rhythm.
Filled with beaches, flowers and pistachios, this Saronic Island, which is just an hour away from the capital, is one of the most popular wedding destinations in Greece.
My inspiration for this wedding in Aegina was the island itself, the romantic vibes, the olive trees, the pistachios, the azure sea, and, of course, Stelios and Dena.
This young, beautiful, loving couple, who are obviously meant for each other, opted for a minimal, yet elegant wedding concept, which fit perfectly within the natural environment of Aegina island.
My goal was to create a wedding that could accentuate all the strong elements Aegina island is known for. The olive tree, a central element of the wedding, was featured in the exquisite, custom-designed invitation suite.
Then there were olive branches fused with white flowers, a creative floral design by Matina Kritikou, which decorated the postcard-charming little chapel at Aegina’s lighthouse for the wedding ceremony.
Stelios was a fabulous groom in his sur mesure tailored suit. 
Dena, a calm, beautiful, radiant bride, in a chic and minimal wedding dress by Vasia Tzotzopoulou. 
The bride arrived in church accompanied by flower girls and a page boy.
And, like all traditional weddings in Greek islands, there was a white horse-drawn carriage!
She arrived like a vision, and then, a really emotional moment, the little page boy, the bride’s nephew, offered his hand to help her down the carriage, and lead her down the
aisle, like a father, to give her away to the man of her life!
After the ceremony, in one of the most romantic chapels in Aegina island, the newlyweds stole the show with a vintage antique car, which we all fell in love with!
Since the wedding concept was a romantic wedding in Aegina, there was no better spot to celebrate it than a castle by the sea!
It was Pyrgos Melissanidi, a one-of-a-kind wedding venue in Aegina, which became the perfect backdrop for a fabulous wedding party that lasted till dawn!
