It’s important to think about a few things about your partner before deciding when, where and how to plan everything.
Think about what your special someone would prefer and plan accordingly to her personality: what she likes most, her personal style, her hobbies and activities. Your aim is to make her feel exactly that: special!
The most important thing is to wait until you feel the moment is right for both of you, that you are both ready to take your relationship to the next level.
Many ladies are more than happy to offer subtle hints about the rings they like, the atmosphere they prefer, and their dream proposal.
If you are feeling lost, don’t be afraid to ask for help! Her friends, her sister, even her mother would be happy to tell you all the things they know she would love! If you are still not sure, hire a planner!

Make a plan
Every girl grows up dreaming of the time that her beloved will be getting to one knee and popping the big question.
Think about the style of the wedding proposal your other half is dreaming of.
You should know what her preferences are.
Would she love a public proposal, or would she appreciate having it happen in front of your families?
Is an intimate proposal with just the two of you more her style?
Somewhere with a beautiful view as the sun sets perhaps? Or even a romantic restaurant with lots of champagne afterwards?
It’s important to have a plan. A spontaneous proposal is one thing, lots of ladies would love it, an awkwardly planned one is another, your girl might not appreciate, say, getting ambushed at home in her pajamas, if you have someone shooting video of the proposal!

First, get a ring!
Unless you already have an heirloom family ring that you are planning to offer your future wife, (which is very trendy by the way), you should get a diamond ring that fits her style. Shop around for a great quality stone rather than a large one!
Remember the 4 Cs – carat size, cut, color and clarity. Make sure you get its certificate too – this ring is about to become an heirloom of your new family together!
Then, think about your proposal.
What are you going to say? Don’t go for a flat “Will you marry me?” If you have no idea of how to go about it, here are some tips.
- It’s not a speech, so keep it short and sweet.
- You can be funny, passionate, emotional or intense, but speak from the heart.
- You should speak about all the reasons why you want to spend the rest of your life with this person,
- about how she makes you feel,

- make your promises for your life together.
If all else fails, and you find yourself sweating and trembling – it happens to the best of you, don’t worry too much about it – keep it simple: “I love you, I can’t think of my life without you, please marry me and make me the happiest man alive!” and you’ll be okay!
